Refunds

Your participation in a Walk Your Path Well adventure is secured when you mail in full payment for the course.  Each adventure can accommodate up to nine participants. If your payment arrives after all slots are full, you have the choice to apply your check to the next available adventure or to receive a full refund by mail.  If you decide to cancel your participation more than one week prior to the date of the adventure, you will receive a full refund. If you cancel less than one week before the scheduled adventure, you will receive a refund of half of the amount paid.

Rain checks

If the weather report predicts rain on the day of a scheduled adventure, the course will continue as planned. If rain falls during the course of the adventure, students will be taken to alternate locations (such as the park shelter or the community indoor swimming pool) to continue activities. If the weather makes it impossible to hold an adventure, you will be contacted by phone and you may apply your payment to the next available adventure or the amount paid for the course will be fully refunded.

Timing

Punctuality is important for the Walk Your Path Well adventure. Courses will start at the scheduled time, cover a wide area, and finish at the scheduled time. If you arrive more than 30 minutes late, the group will have proceeded on the journey, and you will need to locate the group on your own. You may reach Al on the cell phone for directions at (919) 724-9449. As the adventure will take place over a span of land, it would be difficult to pick up the student before the scheduled end time, hence, students are asked to sign up for the adventures that they can participate in for the full length of time.

Preparation

Students must bring appropriate clothing and footwear for the journey. It is advised to dress in layers, especially in cooler weather, so that students may be comfortable in heat and shade. Wear clothing that is comfortable and casual (getting muddy is almost inevitable). When adventures take place in or near the river, students will need to bring a bathing suit. Shoes should be appropriate for hiking, tennis shoes or hiking boots are suitable. For river adventures, adventurers must bring enclosed river shoes, appropriate for wading in the river. Adventures must bring lunch but a morning and afternoon snack, water and all-you-can-drink Gatorade will be provided. Adventurers may bring their own sunscreen and/or bug spray.
