Eno River State Park, Durham NC

The Few’s Ford Access
to the Eno River is located in Durham and
Orange Counties. With almost 2700 acres,
the Eno River State Park provides a green space
for the community. It is an ideal location for
an environmental camp, with more 18 miles of
hiking trails, easy access to the river, and well-
kept fields for games and play. More than 152
different species of animals have been sighted
in the park.

One of the premier outdoor activity areas in the world, The Nantahala Gorge offers outstanding whitewater rafting, mountain biking, horseback riding, fishing, canoeing and kayaking. It is close to the Appalachian Trail, Bartram Trail, and the many trails of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. The Appalachian Trail (A.T.) is a more than 2,175-mile long footpath stretching through 14 eastern states from Maine to Georgia. Conceived in 1921 and first completed in 1937, it traverses the wild, scenic, wooded, pastoral, and culturally significant lands of the Appalachian Mountains. The A.T. is America's first national scenic trail!
Located in western North Carolina near the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the Nantahala Outdoor Center offers many opportunities for adventure. White water rafting trips are offered on the Chattooga River, Cheoah River, French Broad River, Nantahala River, Nolichucky River, Ocoee River, and Pigeon River. The Nantahala Outdoor Center also offers adventure-learning programs such as ropes course climbing, flat water lake kayaking, fly fishing, and hiking.
Deep Creek is a cascading whitewater stream flowing out of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Located In the Great Smoky Mountains, Deep Creek features rippling trout runs, sparkling waterfalls, natural swimming holes, wildflower-lined trails and a mile of great whitewater tubing. There’s plenty to enjoy in the mountains of Western North Carolina!
